Intermountain Eye Centers proudly welcomes Brent Betts, MD, our newest ophthalmic surgeon!
Dr. Betts is a fellowship-trained ophthalmologist who specializes in medical and surgical treatment of corneal and anterior segment eye diseases. His expertise lies in cornea transplantation, routine and complex cataract surgery, anterior segment reconstruction, refractive surgery including LASIK and PRK, implantable contact lenses and refractive lens extraction.
Dr. Betts obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Nevada, Reno and his medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine. He completed his ophthalmology residency at Wake Forest University Eye Center where he served as chief resident. He also completed the prestigious cornea and refractive surgery fellowship at the University of Utah’s Moran Eye Center.
Dr. Betts is a strong advocate of humanitarian outreach and has traveled to Honduras and Bolivia to provide training for local ophthalmologists. Aside from ophthalmology, Dr. Betts enjoys spending time with his wife, two children, and large dog. His pastimes include snowboarding, surfing, rock climbing, hiking, and doing anything outdoors.
Dr. Betts joins Intermountain Eye Centers starting August 1st and is accepting new patients.
