During EVO ICL surgery, we go inside the eye to place the lens behind the iris, while LASIK reshapes your cornea (the surface of your eye) with a laser. They both share the same goal, to help you reduce dependency on glasses and contacts.
If you have severe myopia (nearsightedness) EVO ICL may provide you better visual outcomes and acuity than LASIK. A detailed eye examination is needed to find out if ICLs are appropriate for you.
The procedure takes about 15 minutes and the results are rapid. A tiny incision is created at the base of the cornea. The lens is folded and inserted through the incision and positioned in the eye behind the iris where it is not visible.
Because the ICL corrects for distance vision, it does not eliminate the need for reading glasses if you develop presbyopia (vision after 40) this occurs whether you’ve had ICLs or not.
EVO ICL has been implanted for many years around the world. According to a STAAR patient survey, 99.4% of patients would have the EVO procedure again. Over 1,000,000 EVO ICL lenses have been implanted worldwide. The FDA has confirmed the EVO ICL is a safe and effective treatment for U.S patients.
Your EVO ICL investment is $3650 per eye, or $7300 for both eyes for myopia. Astigmatism (toric) EVO ICL is $4100 per eye, or $8200 for both eyes. We are the only Idaho practice to publish our prices. Invest in yourself and own your vision instead of renting it from the contact lens and eye glass industry.
